    Come to the DPRK and celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8. You will see how women are cherished in the DPRK and will have a chance to take part in holiday's festivities on this occasion. In this tour you will visit Sariwon, where you will see famous Folk Custom Street, and also you will stop by Korean silicon valley Pyongsong. We will also inspect Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - the strip of land separating North and South Korea, where you will glimpse to South Korea and if lucky you will also see South Korean soldiers. You will experience beautiful Mt.Myohyang and Kaesong - the ancient capital of Korea.

    Mar 4 (Sat):

    Arrival in Pyongyang

    • Depart from Dandong (China) by the international train Dandong - Pyongyang at 9.35 in the morning. Arrive in Pyongyang at 17.45 on the same day
    • REMARK: Instead of taking train from Dandong you can book AirKoryo flight Beijing-Pyongyang-Beijing (230 Euro extra charge)
    • Check-in at the Sosan Hotel *** - located near sport Pyongyang vilage, this hotel was recenly renovated and now it offers one of the best facilities in the capital

    WALKING PYONGYANG DOWNTOWN TOUR

    • Experience the incredible Kumsusan Palace of Sun - Mausoleum of president Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. To visit the Mausoleum tourists should follow a strict dress code: no shorts, T-shirts and sandals, no blue jeans and mini-skirts
    • WALKING PYONGYANG DOWNTOWN TOUR: Korea Konsult is the first company offering a unique walking tour in Pyongyang downtown! Only with us you can walk along the capital’s streets like a local citizen instead of being carried through the city in a tourist bus (which will always be available for those who feel they want to take the bus instead of walking)
    • Start your walking journey in the capital from Munsu Waterpark - the first park of this kind in Pyongyang. It features indoor and outdoor pools, amazing waterslides, coffee shop, a beer bar, table tennis, billiards massage and a beauty salon. A great place to chat with local people.     • Walk along Munsu street to Monument to Workers' Party of Korea - opened in Juche 84 (1995) the monument depicts the hammer, sickle and brush seized by a worker, a farmer and an intellectual. The round belt means the single-hearted unity of the leader, Party and people
    • Stroll down to Taedong river embankment and see Kimilsungnia - Kimjongilia Exhibition house - the place dedicated to two flowers named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il
    • Walk along Munsu Kangan street to Ryugyong Health Complex - opened in 2012 it is a huge recreational complex in central Pyongyang. It includes health complex, modern facilities for bathing, beauty and massage saloons, gym, Ice Rink, and even Skate Park
    • Enjoy lunch
    • Walk to Juche Tower - at 150m it is the highest stone monument in the world. Take elevator to the top of the tower to enjoy the magnificent view of Pyongyang (optional, 5 Euro p/p)
    • Return to Okryu bridge and pass it on foot. On the other side of the bridge you will see newly built Mansudae residential district, which locals call “new Dubai” for its futuristic design
    • Head to Taedong Park - a great place a few minutes away from Kim Il Sung Square to enjoy a peceful park and a walk along the Taedong river. Inspect Pyongyang Bell - national treasure, it was rung to announce invasions, natural disasters, New Year's Day and other major events. The current bell was cast in 1726 during the Ri dynasty to replace an earlier one that was destroyed by fire in 1714. Walk along the Taedong river to Taedong Gate - built in the mid-6th century, it is the east gate of the inner castle of the Walled City of Pyongyang (Pyongyang Castle, Koguryo dynasty) situated on the bank of River Taedong. Stop by Ryonggwang Pavillion - one of the 8 scenic wonders of western part of Korea
    • Visit Pyongyang Foreign Language Book Shop - the popular shop where you can buy propaganda posters, books and other souvenirs
    • Walk to Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s central square where Korea’s massive military parades normally take place. Opened in August Juche 43 (1954) it is the 30th largest square in the world
    • Pass by Grand People’s Study House - located at the Kim Il Sung Square it is one of the most famous buildings in Pyongyang. It was built in a traditional Korean style over a period of 21 months and opened in April of 1982 to honor Kim Il Sung’s 70th birthday
    • Cross over Mansudae Fountain Park - composed of many beautifully designed in shape of dancing women fountains, this park is a place to enjoy jets of water reaching up to 80 meters
    • Pass by Mansudae Art Theatre
    • Climb Mansu Hill and visit Mansudae Grand Monument - the huge bronze statues of the leaders standing in the center of the composition with two monuments titled "Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle" and "Socialist Construction" on both sides. It was renovated in April 2012 following the passing away of the leader Kim Jong Il and a new statue of Kim Jong Il was added next to Kim Il Sung's
    • Continue your journey to Pothong Gate - built in 6th century, it is the western gate of the inner castle of the Walled City of Pyongyang (Pyongyang Castle, Koguryo dynasty). Enroute you will pass Grand People’s Assembly Hall - opened in 1984 it is a place where National Parliament makes all important decisions
    • Pass by People’s Palace of Culture - opened on Chollima Street in 1974
    • Walk to Indoor Stadium - completed in 1973 and renovated in 2013 it is a striking modernist style stadium
    • Pass by Pyongyang Ice Rink - specialized stadium completed in 1981. The rink resembles a skater’s cap
    • Enjoy shopping in Rakwon Department Store - located near indoor Stadium it is one of the main department stores in Pyongyang. Great chance to experience shopping!
    • Walk to Pyongyang Railway Station
    • Dinner
    • Take bus back to the hotel

    Mar 6 (Mon): Pyongyang Mt.Myohyang Pyongyang

    • Drive to Mt.Myohyang - the Mountain of Mysterious Fragrance, one of the five celebrated mountains of Korea. It is a sacred site as, according to legend, it was the home of King Tangun, forefather of the Korean people. In 2009 UNESCO designated Mount Myohyang a world biosphere reserve
    • Visit grandiose International Friendship Exhibition - the world's biggest treasure-house. On exhibit are gifts received by DPRK's leaders over the years. One building stores the presents given to President Kim Il Sung, while a smaller one holds those given to Leader Kim Jong Il
    • After impressive exhibition visit Pohyon temple - one of the five famous Buddhist temples of Korea, it was built nearly 1,000 years ago
    • Enjoy your lunch
    • Drive back to Pyongyang
    • Take ride in Pyongyang Metro - one of the deepest subways in the world, it was designed to serve as a bomb shelter in case of war. The stations' interiors are stunning with superb lighting and mosaics. This is a great chance to interact with local people and explore several subway stations
    • Stop by Arch of Triumph - built in 1982 to commemorate President Kim Il Sung’s role in resisting Japanese rule, it is the second tallest triumphal arch in the world. Each of its 25,500 blocks of finely-dressed white granite represents a day of his life up to that point

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum - unveiled in 2013 by the leader Kim Jong Un after massive renovation this museum explains the origins of the Korean War (1950-53) between South and North. Here you will see the only US ship captured by a foreign country - the spy ship USS Pueblo, as well as American weapons and shot down planes. The museum features amazing displays and excellent dioramas
    • Drive to Pyongsong - Korea's Silicon Valley focusing on leading space researches. Only in 2014 this city was opened for foreign visitors
    • Visit Kim Jong Suk Middle School - named after the mother of Kim Jong Il it is one of the best schools in the DPRK for talented children from the whole country. For some English-language learners in this school you can be the first opportunity to converse with foreign visitors

    • Drive to Pyongyang
    • Pyongyang Embroidery Institute - this is where most Korean embroideries are made. It is named after Kim Jong Suk, mother of the leader Kim Jong Il. It is a great opportunity to buy hand made embroidery at very reasonable price
    • Museum of Metro Construction - huge exhibition dedicated to construction of the capital subway system
    • Pyongyang Schoolchildren’s Palace - one of 2 major centers of extra curriculum education built for the Korean Communist Youth of Pyongyang. There may be a chance to see a performance prepared by local children

    Mar 8 (Wed): Pyongyang Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Kaesong Sariwon Pyongyang

    International Women's Day

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Drive to Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, it is one of the most militarized area on our planet
    • Visit Panmunjom - a village where in 1953 Armistice Talks were held between the DPR Korea and the United Nation Command. Visit the blue tent-like building located exactly on the borderline between Koreas. You can walk around the conference room and hop from South to North Korea while you are in this building. This is one of the few places where you can take pictures of the DPRK military
    • Transfer to Kaesong - capital of Korea up to the 15th century. Kaesong is the only city in Korea which has preserved its original historical make up as it hasn't been destroyed during the Korean war. It is a home for 12 historic sites from the UNESCO World Heritage List. Kaesong is considered to be home of Koryo insam (ginseng) and so be prepared to buy some of the best insam in the Far East
    • Walk in Janamsan Park - located on a hill overlooking the city it is a great place to enjoy the beautiful panorama of the old Kaesong
    • Enjoy lunch at Tongil restaurant - "Tongil" means "Reunification" in Korean, it is one of the most famous restaurants in Kaesong where you can experience royal meal with multiple side-dishes. For anyone wanting to supplement their lunch, there will be an opportunity to sample Korea’s famous ginseng chicken soup (at extra charge)
    • Drive to Sariwon - the southern gateway to Pyongyang. With population well above 300,000 Sariwon is one the most densely populated cities of the DPRK and it is famous for its Maccoli - Korean traditional rice wine
    • Sariwon Folk Customs Street - great place to see Korean traditions and customs
    • Stop by Migok Cooperative Farm - a great opportunity to visit a greenhouse to see how vegetables are grown using snails for environmental pest control and tour into one of the houses of the people working on the fields to experience farmer's life
    • Drive back to Pyongyang. On the way back there will be a short photo-break at Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification - the monument representing desire of Korean people for reunification. It is shaped in form of two Korean women holding Korean peninsula over the Thongil highway from Pyongyang to DMZ
    • Enjoy Women’s Day Festivities including special concert
    • Farewell dinner in famous BBQ Duck Restaurant

    • After breakfast in the hotel transfer to Pyongyang Railway Station and depart by the international train Pyongyang - Dandong at 10.40 in the morning. Arrive in Dandong at 16.23 on the same day
