    June is one of the most favorable seasons to enjoy the beauty of the DPRK prior to the onset of the summer heat. It is a great opportunity to participate in the International Children’s Day Celebrations - children of different ages and nationalities from all over the country come on this morning to the park to celebrate this special day. They enjoy together the sunny weather, play funny games, participate in sport contests and eat different fruit, sweets and korean soda for the kids. In this tour you will also visit all major Pyongyang attractions and inspect Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Experience summer hiking in celebrated mountains of Korea. You will see two out of five celebrated mountains - Mt.Myohyang and Mt.Kuwol.

    May 30 (Tue):

    Arrival in Pyongyang

    • Depart from Dandong (China) by the international train Dandong - Pyongyang at 9.35 in the morning. Arrive in Pyongyang at 17.45 on the same day
    • REMARK: You can book AirKoryo Beijing-Pyongyang-Beijing flight (230 Euro extra charge)
    • Take ride in Pyongyang Metro - one of the deepest subways in the world, it was designed to serve as a bomb shelter in case of war. The stations' interiors are stunning with superb lighting and mosaics. This is a great chance to interact with local people and explore several subway stations
    • Move to Arch of Triumph - built in 1982 to commemorate President Kim Il Sung’s role in resisting Japanese rule, it is the second tallest triumphal arch in the world. Each of its 25,500 blocks of finely-dressed white granite represents a day of his life up to that point
    • Check-in at the Sosan Hotel *** - located near sport Pyongyang vilage, this hotel was recenly renovated and now it offers one of the best facilities in the capital

    • WALKING PYONGYANG DOWNTOWN TOUR: Korea Konsult is the first company offering a unique walking tour in Pyongyang downtown! Only with us you can walk along the capital’s streets like a local citizen instead of being carried through the city in a tourist bus (which will always be available for those who feel they want to take the bus instead of walking)
    • Start your walking journey in the capital from Munsu Waterpark - the first park of this kind in Pyongyang. It features indoor and outdoor pools, amazing waterslides, coffee shop, a beer bar, table tennis, billiards massage and a beauty salon. A great place to chat with local people. Entrance 3 Euro, those who would like to swim be ready to pay 10 Euro
    • Walk along Munsu street to Monument to Workers' Party of Korea - opened in Juche 84 (1995) the monument depicts the hammer, sickle and brush seized by a worker, a farmer and an intellectual. The round belt means the single-hearted unity of the leader, Party and people
    • Stroll down to Taedong river embankment and see Kimilsungnia - Kimjongilia Exhibition house - the place dedicated to two flowers named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il
    • Walk along Munsu Kangan street to Ryugyong Health Complex - opened in 2012 it is a huge recreational complex in central Pyongyang. It includes health complex, modern facilities for bathing, beauty and massage saloons, gym, Ice Rink, and even Skate Park
    • Enjoy lunch
    • Walk to Juche Tower - at 150m it is the highest stone monument in the world. Take elevator to the top of the tower to enjoy the magnificent view of Pyongyang (optional, 5 Euro p/p)
    • Return to Okryu bridge and pass it on foot. On the other side of the bridge you will see newly built Mansudae residential district, which locals call “new Dubai” for its futuristic design
    • Head to Taedong Park - a great place a few minutes away from Kim Il Sung Square to enjoy a peceful park and a walk along the Taedong river. Inspect Pyongyang Bell - national treasure, it was rung to announce invasions, natural disasters, New Year's Day and other major events. The current bell was cast in 1726 during the Ri dynasty to replace an earlier one that was destroyed by fire in 1714. Walk along the Taedong river to Taedong Gate - built in the mid-6th century, it is the east gate of the inner castle of the Walled City of Pyongyang (Pyongyang Castle, Koguryo dynasty) situated on the bank of River Taedong. Stop by Ryonggwang Pavillion - one of the 8 scenic wonders of western part of Korea
    • Visit Pyongyang Foreign Language Book Shop - the popular shop where you can buy propaganda posters, books and other souvenirs
    • Walk to Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s central square where Korea’s massive military parades normally take place. Opened in August Juche 43 (1954) it is the 30th largest square in the world
    • Visit Grand People’s Study House - located at the Kim Il Sung Square it is one of the most famous buildings in Pyongyang. It was built in a traditional Korean style over a period of 21 months and opened in April of 1982 to honor Kim Il Sung’s 70th birthday
    • Cross over Mansudae Fountain Park - composed of many beautifully designed in shape of dancing women fountains, this park is a place to enjoy jets of water reaching up to 80 meters
    • Pass by Mansudae Art Theatre
    • Climb Mansu Hill and visit Mansudae Grand Monument - the huge bronze statues of the leaders standing in the center of the composition with two monuments titled "Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle" and "Socialist Construction" on both sides. It was renovated in April 2012 following the passing away of the leader Kim Jong Il and a new statue of Kim Jong Il was added next to Kim Il Sung's
    • Continue your journey to Pothong Gate - built in 6th century, it is the western gate of the inner castle of the Walled City of Pyongyang (Pyongyang Castle, Koguryo dynasty). Enroute you will pass Grand People’s Assembly Hall - opened in 1984 it is a place where National Parliament makes all important decisions
    • Pass by People’s Palace of Culture - opened on Chollima Street in 1974
    • Walk to Indoor Stadium - completed in 1973 and renovated in 2013 it is a striking modernist style stadium
    • Pass by Pyongyang Ice Rink - specialized stadium completed in 1981. The rink resembles a skater’s cap
    • Enjoy shopping in Rakwon Department Store - located near indoor Stadium it is one of the main department stores in Pyongyang. Great chance to experience shopping!
    • Walk to Pyongyang Railway Station

    International Children's Day!

    • REMARK: International Children’s Day was established after the Women’s International Democratic Federation convened in 1949 in Moscow. Koreans like saying that in the DPRK children are the true kings of the country
    • Wake up early, have breakfast in the hotel and start this special day with a walk in
    • Drive to Pyongsong - Korea's Silicon Valley focusing on leading space researches. Only in 2014 this city was opened for foreign visitors
    • Visit Paeksong Revolutionary Site - the place to which Kim Il Sung University was moved during the Korean War
    • Stop by Kim Jong Suk Middle School - named after the mother of Kim Jong Il it is one of the best schools in the DPRK for talented children from the whole country. For some English-language learners in this school you can be the first opportunity to converse with foreign visitors
    • Drive back to Pyongyang
    • Enjoy picnic at Ryongak Hill - called "Dragon Hill" (Ryongak in Korean) it is a rocky peak in Pyongyang's suburbs. At 292 m Tae peak is the highest giving splendid views on the city. It is a popular hiking and BBQ destination for the capital inhabitants
    • Celebrate this special day with Korean children in Mangyondae funfair - a huge amusement park located 12 kilometers from Pyongyang. It has a pool, a roller coaster, a merry-go-round, a train ride and many other attractions. in this park on the occasion of the Children Day there will be festival with children from all over the world
    • Visit Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace - recently renovated center for local children's extra curricular education. The palace was opened in 1989 and it features striking post-modern piece of design. In 2016 it was re-opened after massive reconstruction and now it is one of the most striking building in the country. After excursion you will have a chance to enjoy amazing children’s performance .     • Spend evening in Golden Lane Bowling Center - the huge entertainment center, a good chance to mix with locals and watch some stellar displays of local bowling talent and relax after long sightseeing day. There is also a shooting range next door

    Jun 2 (Fri): Pyongyang Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Kaesong Pyongyang

    • Breakfast
    • Drive to Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, it is one of the most militarized area on our planet
    • Explore Panmunjom - a village where in 1953 Armistice Talks were held between the DPR Korea and the United Nation Command. Visit the blue tent-like building located exactly on the borderline between Koreas. You can walk around the conference room and hop from South to North Korea while you are in this building. This is one of the few places where you can take pictures of the DPRK military
    • Move to Kaesong - capital of Korea up to the 15th century. Kaesong is the only city in Korea which has preserved its original historical make up as it hasn't been destroyed during the Korean war. It is a home for 12 historic sites from the UNESCO World Heritage List. Kaesong is considered to be home of Koryo insam (ginseng) and so be prepared to buy some of the best insam in the Far East
    • Walk in Janamsan Park - located on a hill overlooking the city it is a great place to enjoy the beautiful panorama of the old Kaesong
    • Enjoy lunch at Tongil restaurant - "Tongil" means "Reunification" in Korean, it is one of the most famous restaurants in Kaesong where you can experience royal meal with multiple side-dishes. For anyone wanting to supplement their lunch, there will be an opportunity to sample Korea’s famous ginseng chicken soup (at extra charge)
    • Move back to Pyongyang. On the way back there will be a short photo-break at Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification - the monument representing desire of Korean people for reunification. It is shaped in form of two Korean women holding Korean peninsula over the Thongil highway from Pyongyang to DMZ
    • Visit one of the finest museums of the DPRK Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum - unveiled in 2013 by the leader Kim Jong Un after massive renovation this museum explains the origins of the Korean War (1950-53) between South and North. Here you will see the only US ship captured by a foreign country - the spy ship USS Pueblo, as well as American weapons and shot down planes. The museum features amazing displays and excellent dioramas
    • Enjoy dinner in famous BBQ Duck Restaurant
    • Walk along Mirae (Future) Street - it is opened in 2015 street featuring futuristic looking buildings. Korean government allocated residential buildings at this street to teachers of local universities

    • Drive farther to Mt.Myohyang - the Mountain of Mysterious Fragrance, one of the five celebrated mountains of Korea. It is a sacred site as, according to legend, it was the home of King Tangun, forefather of the Korean people. In 2009 UNESCO designated Mount Myohyang a world biosphere reserve
    • Upon arrival visit grandiose International Friendship Exhibition - the world's biggest treasure-house. On exhibit are gifts received by DPRK's leaders over the years. One building stores the presents given to President Kim Il Sung, while a smaller one holds those given to Leader Kim Jong Il
    • After impressive exhibition explore tranquil Pohyon temple - one of the five famous Buddhist temples of Korea, it was built nearly 1,000 years ago
    • Lunch
    • Hike in Manphok valley - "Manphok" means in Korean "valley of ten thousands falls". Enjoy the route of about 8 km (round way) and see beautiful hermitages, rocks, caves, falls, and pavilions
    • Head to Ryongmun Caves - a stunning series of grottoes and subterranean caves formed 480 million years ago by limestone erosion. Its average temperature is 11C and humidity 80
    • Drive back to Pyongyang

    • Drive to Sariwon - the southern gateway to Pyongyang. With population well above 300,000 Sariwon is one the most densely populated cities of the DPRK and it is famous for its Maccoli - Korean traditional rice wine
    • Explore Sariwon Folk Customs Street - great place to see Korean traditions and customs
    • Stop by Mt.Jongbang - 481m high mountain near Sariwon famous for its many spots to enjoy beautiful landscapes and historical fort dated back to Koryo Dynasty
    • Visit Songbul Temple - one of the famous temples in Korea. It was first built in 898 and later rebuilt in Koryo dynasty
    • Migok Cooperative Farm - a great opportunity to visit a greenhouse to see how vegetables are grown using snails for environmental pest control and tour into one of the houses of the people working on the fields to experience farmer's life
    • Head to Mt.Kuwol - one of the 5 celebrated mountains, it is called "September mountain" in Korean because of its beauty in autumn
    • Visit Woljong Temple - built on Asa Peak in around 9 century, it is a place to explore several ancient pavilions, halls and smaller temples
    • Open air picnic
    • Enjoy beautiful landscapes and waterfalls in one of the peaceful valleys of Mt.Kuwol
    • Drive over West Sea Barrage - built from 1981 to 1986 this 8 km barrage is a source of pride in the DPRK
    • Check in at The Ryonggang Hot Spring Hotel *** - or “Dragon River Hot Spa Resort” consists of seven villas each with 4 neatly decorated appatments equipped with its own private hot spring tub. The salty water comes directly from the waterbed beneath the ground and has countless health benefits. It is the richest in mineral matters among the spas of Korea

    • Kangso Spring Water Factory - one of a few places to see how mineral water is bottled from its beginning to its packaging. After the tour visitors can try locally produced mineral water

    • Visit Three Revolutions Exhibition - several halls showcasing the nation’s technological, cultural and ideological progress following the Korean War. The central building has a shape resembling a spherical planet with rings, similar to the planet of Saturn. The dome itself also houses a planetarium
    • Enroute stop by Pyongyang Embroidery Institute - this is where most Korean embroideries are made. It is named after Kim Jong Suk, mother of the leader Kim Jong Il. It is a great opportunity to buy hand made embroidery at very reasonable price

    • Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs' Cemetery - built on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Korean War (1950/53) to commemorate memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland
    • Museum of Metro Construction - huge exhibition dedicated to construction of the capital subway system
