    This is the longest tour of the year covering almost all sites open for foreign tourists including Rason Special Economic Zone where the DPRK is testing its new economic policy, and 4 celebrated mountains: Mt.Paektu - the most beautiful and famous mountain in Korea with the most striking landscape in the DPRK, Mt.Kumgang - most popular hiking destination, Mt.Chilbo - the only place in the DPRK where you can experience unique home stay in a Korean family, and Mt.Myohyang - to see world's biggest treasure-house exhibiting gifts received by Korean Leaders over the years.
    9 September - is the main National holiday of the DPRK: 71st Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic. On this occasion there will be amazing Mass Dance and Pyongyang will feature holiday festivities including expected Military Parade.
    On this tour you will have an optional opportunity to take the PYONGYANG AIR CITY TOUR - a 40 minute trip in the skies aboard an Air Koryo Mi-17 helicopter. You will have an unrivalled bird's-eye view of Pyongyang from the sky and a lot of great photo opportunities.     Sep 2 (Mon): Pyongyang

    • Vladivostok departure: flight JS 272 at 12.20 pm, arrival in Pyongyang at 1pm local time
    • Beijing departure: flight JS 152 at 12 pm from Beijing Capital Airport Terminal 2, arrival in Pyongyang at 3 pm local time. NOTE! Due to peak season the Beijing departure time might be changed with very short notice. Therefore we strongly advise you to arrive to Beijing at least one day before your departure to Pyongyang
    • Vladivostok group: Transfer to Pyongyang - the capital city of North Korea, lunch, walk on Ryomyong street - opened in April 2017 it is a new posh district of the capital featuring modern architecture
    • Joining tourists arriving from Beijing
    • Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs' Cemetery - built on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Korean War (1950/53) to commemorate memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland
    • Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum - unveiled in 2013 by the leader Kim Jong Un after massive renovation this museum explains the origins of the Korean War (1950-53) between South and North. Here you will see the only US ship captured by a foreign country - the spy ship USS Pueblo, as well as American weapons and shot down planes. The museum features amazing displays and excellent dioramas
    • Check-in at the Pyongyang Koryo Hotel **** - one of the best Pyongyang hotels (first class and deluxe suits are also available at extra charge), it is located in Pyongyang downtown

    Sep 3 (Tue): Pyongyang Mt.Myohyang Pyongyang

    • Breakfast
    • Drive to Mt.Myohyang - the Mountain of Mysterious Fragrance, one of the five celebrated mountains of Korea. It is a sacred site as, according to legend, it was the home of King Tangun, forefather of the Korean people. In 2009 UNESCO designated Mount Myohyang a world biosphere reserve
    • International Friendship Exhibition - the world's biggest treasure-house. On exhibit are gifts received by DPRK's leaders over the years. One building stores the presents given to President Kim Il Sung, while a smaller one holds those given to Leader Kim Jong Il
    • Pohyon temple - one of the five famous Buddhist temples of Korea, it was built nearly 1,000 years ago
    • Lunch at Shangrila Hotel
    • Hike in Manphok valley - "Manphok" means in Korean "valley of ten thousands falls". Enjoy beautiful hermitages, rocks, caves, falls, and pavilions
    • Drive to Ryongmun Caves - a stunning series of grottoes and subterranean caves formed 480 million years ago by limestone erosion. Its average temperature is 11C and humidity 80
    • Return to Pyongyang
    • Dinner
    • Mirae (Future) Street - it is opened in 2015 street featuring futuristic looking buildings. Korean government allocated residential buildings at this street to teachers of local universities

    Sep 4 (Wed): Pyongyang Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Kaesong Pyongyang

    • Breakfast
    • Drive to Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, it is one of the most militarized area on our planet
    • Visit Panmunjom - a village where in 1953 Armistice Talks were held between the DPR Korea and the United Nation Command. Visit the blue tent-like building located exactly on the borderline between Koreas. You can walk around the conference room and hop from South to North Korea while you are in this building. This is one of the few places where you can take pictures of the DPRK military
    • Transfer to Kaesong - capital of Korea up to the 15th century. Kaesong is the only city in Korea which has preserved its original historical make up as it hasn't been destroyed during the Korean war. It is a home for 12 historic sites from the UNESCO World Heritage List. Kaesong is considered to be home of Koryo insam (ginseng) and so be prepared to buy some of the best insam in the Far East
    • Walk in Janamsan Park - located on a hill overlooking the city it is a great place to enjoy the beautiful panorama of the old Kaesong
    • Lunch at Tongil restaurant - "Tongil" means "Reunification" in Korean, it is one of the most famous restaurants in Kaesong where you will enjoy Traditional Royal Korean Lunch with 12 side-dishes served in brass bowls fit for the kings. For anyone wanting to supplement their lunch, there will be an opportunity to sample Korea’s famous ginseng chicken soup (at extra charge)
    • Sonjuk Bridge - a small stone bridge dating back to 1216, UNESCO World Heritage Site
    • Kaesong Ginseng Processing Factory
    • Drive to Tomb of King Kongmin - UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the original mausoleum of the 31st king of the Koryo Dynasty - King Kongmin and his Queen dated back to 14th century
    • Drive back to Pyongyang
    • Dinner

    Sep 5 (Thu): Pyongyang

    • Kumsusan Palace of Sun - Mausoleum of president Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. To visit the Mausoleum tourists should follow a strict dress code: no shorts, T-shirts and sandals, no blue jeans and mini-skirts
    • Three Revolutions Exhibition - several halls showcasing the nation’s technological, cultural and ideological progress following the Korean War. The central building has a shape resembling a spherical planet with rings, similar to the planet of Saturn. The dome itself also houses a planetarium
    • Walk on Ryomyong street - opened in April 2017 it is a new posh district of the capital featuring modern architecture
    • Lunch
    • Taedong Park - a great place a few minutes away from Kim Il Sung Square to enjoy a peaceful park and a walk along the Taedong river
    • Pyongyang Foreign Language Book Shop - the popular shop where you can buy propaganda posters, books and other souvenirs
    • Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s central square where Korea’s massive military parades normally take place. Opened in August Juche 43 (1954) it is the 30th largest square in the world
    • Walk from the square to the Grand Pyongyang Teater
    • Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace - recently renovated center for local children's extra curricular education. The palace was opened in 1989 and it features striking post-modern piece of design. In 2016 it was re-opened after massive reconstruction and now it is one of the most striking building in the country. After excursion you will have a chance to enjoy amazing children’s performance
    • Kwangbok Supermarket - located at one of the biggest city's street it is a popular mall where visitors can exchange money into local Won in order to shop
    • Pyongyang microbrewery and bar - try several types of locally brewed beer and wide variety of international cuisine (at your own expense)

    Sep 6 (Fri): Pyongyang Wonsan

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Drive to Wonsan - port city and naval base on the westernmost shore of the East Korean Sea. There are a lot of beautiful beaches around Wonsan making it a touristic Mekka of the DPRK
    • Stop at Sinpyong Lake - the resting place right half-way between Pyongyang and Wonsan, there is a rest house with bathrooms and refreshments
    • Ulim Waterfall - one of the famous waterfalls in Korea, it was discovered by Korean soldiers in 2001. The waterfall falls from 45m making thunderous sound echo as far as four kilometers around. That is why the waterfall is called "Ullim" or "echo" in Korean
    • Wonsan central square - located in the city's heart it features recently renovated monuments to the leaders. A few minutes walk from the central square there is a harbor where you can see local people fishing. The Mangyongbong-92 ferry which once shuttled Koreans living in Japan back and forth across the East Sea of Korea is moored here
    • Lunch at Kalmaegi fish restaurant in Wonsan
    • Wonsan Agricultural University - the most important agricultural university in the country
    • Kaeson Revolutionary Museum in Wonsan - former Wonsan Railway Station turned into museum
    • Dinner
    • Walk along the breakwater to the lighthouse to enjoy the fantastic view of Wonsan from the seaside and to see locals fishing and cooking seafood.

    OVERNIGHT: Tongmyong Hotel **
    Sep 7 (Sat): Wonsan Mt.Kumgang

    • Breakfast
    • Drive to Mt.Kumgang - "diamond mountain" in Korean, it is one of the most famous mountains in Korea. "If I were to die the day after seeing Kumgang, I would have no regrets", said the Chinese Song Dynasty poet Su Shi (1037-1101). Until 2010 Mt.Kumgang had been off-limits to most foreigners visiting North Korea
    • Kuryongyon Course - the most beautiful track in Outer Kumgang, it is about 7 - 8 km walk from Mokran restaurant to Kuryong (Nine Dragon) Waterfalls
    • Lunch at Mokran Restaurant - famous restaurant at the foot of Mt.Kumgang
    • Samil Lagoon - widely known for its crystal-clear water, rocky hills and thick forests. According to legend, a king once visited the lake for a day but was so amazed by its beauty that he stayed there for three days, hence the name Samil (three days)

    Sep 8 (Sun): Mt.Kumgang Wonsan Mt.Kumgang Wonsan Pyongyang

    • Breakfast
    • Drive to Wonsan via Chonsam cooperative farm - "an area of three villages where springs well out" in Korean. You will visit agricultural fields, kindergarten and local store
    • Rest on the beach at Sijung Beach & Motel - one of a number of tranquil white, sandy beaches in North Korea. Sijung beach is half way between Wonsan and Mt.Kumgang
    • Lunch in Wonsan
    • Songdowon International Children's Union Camp - perfect place for schoolchildren between April and October not only from Korea but from other countries as well. It is situated right on the coast and boasts white, sandy beaches
    • Drive back to Pyongyang
    • Dinner

    Sep 9 (Mon): Pyongyang

    DPRK NATIONAL DAY, FOUNDATION OF THE REPUBLIC

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Mansudae Fountain Park - composed of many beautifully designed in shape of dancing women fountains, this park is a place to enjoy jets of water reaching up to 80 meters
    • Mansudae Grand Monument - the huge bronze statues of the leaders standing in the center of the composition with two monuments titled "Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle" and "Socialist Construction" on both sides. It was renovated in April 2012 following the passing away of the leader Kim Jong Il and a new statue of Kim Jong Il was added next to Kim Il Sung's
    • Moranbong Park - a recreation area where locals have picnics and sing songs during weekends. It is a unique opportunity to socialize with local people
    • Juche Tower - at 150m it is the highest stone monument in the world. Take elevator to the top of the tower to enjoy the magnificent view of Pyongyang (optional, 5 Euro p/p)
    • Lunch
    • Monument to Workers' Party of Korea - opened in Juche 84 (1995) the monument depicts the hammer, sickle and brush seized by a worker, a farmer and an intellectual. The round belt means the single-hearted unity of the leader, Party and people
    • Pyongyang Metro - one of the deepest subways in the world, it was designed to serve as a bomb shelter in case of war. The stations' interiors are stunning with superb lighting and mosaics. This is a great chance to interact with local people and explore several subway stations
    • Arch of Triumph - built in 1982 to commemorate President Kim Il Sung’s role in resisting Japanese rule, it is the second tallest triumphal arch in the world. Each of its 25,500 blocks of finely-dressed white granite represents a day of his life up to that point
    • National Holiday special performance at Korean People Army's Circus - opened in Juche 53 (1964) to host about 1600 spectators
    • Mass Dance - one of the most well known images of North Korea: students of local universities get on the main city's squares and dance dressed in traditional Korean suit
    • Dinner at famous BBQ Duck Restaurant
    • Expected Taedonggang Beer Festival - this is Korean version of German Oktoberfest beer festival. It was organized first time in 2016 in Pyongyang and since then it is said it will be an annual event in Pyongyang. The festival is held at Pyongyang downtown at Taedong river embankment near Kim Il Sung Square, and it is very popular with locals. The festival is a great opportunity to try many different types of Korean most popular beer Taedonggang. You will have a chance to take part in various contests and socialize with friendly Koreans. Entrance fee (about 2 Euro) and beer are at your own expense
    • Kaeson Youth Funfair - one of the most popular amusement parks and nightspots in Pyongyang, it was recently renovated. This is a great place to observe local people and take pictures with them
    • Expected fireworks on the occasion of the National Day

    OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo International Hotel ****
    Sep 10 (Tue): Pyongyang Samjiyon Mt.Paektu Samjiyon

    MT.PAEKTU - THE SACRED HEART OF THE DPRK

    • Breakfast
    • Transfer to the domestic airport and take charter flight to Samjiyon - a beautiful mountain town 1380 m above sea level and is a known ski resort in the DPRK
    • Drive to Mt.Paektu - (Paektusan in Korean) the highest mountain on the Korean Peninsula (2750 m above sea level), it is situated in the border between the DPRK and China. Mt.Paektu is known for its fantastic scenery. It is also a sacred place for the Korean Revolution - a legendary birth place of Leader Kim Jong Il. Mt. Paektu belongs to the coldest zone in the DPRK and the weather is prone to sudden changes. The wind on the mountain top is often strong, so warm clothes are needed in all seasons. We recommend you to take with you:
      • waterproof footwear, good for mountain walk
      • raincoat
      • sweather
      • sun glasses (can be even used to protect against the wind mixed with the sand)
      • sun protection cream (the sunshine on the top can be very strong)
    • Take funicular railway to go from the foot of the mountain to the summit (10 Euro p/p for return trip). Because of frequent power cuts sometimes funicular doesn’t work - hike to the top takes around 45 minutes
    • On the summit observe stunning views over the area and of the Chon Crater Lake - the deepest and the highest mountain lake in the World. You can take stairs (free) or cable car (5 Euro p/p one way) down to the lake from the summit
    • Drive along Amnok river and make a short break to view Chongun rock - in Korean this name means "a thousand soldier rock", this rock goes along Amnok/Yalu river separating China and North Korea. It is one of the most scenic landscapes in the DPRK
    • Picnic lunch with a view on China over Amnok/Yalu river
    • Arrive in Korean Guerilla Secret Camp in Mt.Paektu - it is leader Kim Jong Il's Native Home. Korean People's Revolutionary Army HQ was here during the fight against the Japanese occupation
    • Move to Samjiyon and stop by Samjiyon Schoolchildren's Palace - inaugurated in 2006 by the Leader Kim Jong Il it is the center for local youth education. Possible there will be music and dance performance by Samjiyon children
    • Transfer to Rimyongsu village
    • Observe Rimyongsu Waterfalls - beautiful all year around falls, the water flows out from Chon Crater Lake. It never freezes in winter, there are 42 big and small falls flowing from 6m altitude
    • Dinner

    Sep 11 (Wed): Samjiyon Orang Mt.Chilbo

    HOMESTAY WITH KOREAN FAMILY

    • En route stop by Samjiyon Grand Monument - erected in 1979 on the shore of Lake Samji with Mt.Paektu as background. This huge and impressive monument was built to commemorate President Kim II Sung's revolutionary activity during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle
    • Take charter flight to Orang - a tiny town, home of Chongjin's airport
    • Upon arrival transfer to Mt.Chilbo - 'the Mountain of 7 Treasures', it is one of the most famous scenic spots in the DPRK. Mt Chilbo is put on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage sites
    • En route open air picnic lunch at mountain waterfalls
    • Drive to Inner Chilbo - the area stretches to the inland region of the Mt.Chilbo. The towering peaks are covered with pine trees viewed like green carpets
    • Arrive in Homestay Village - located at the beautiful sea shore, it is the only place in the DPRK that it is possible for tourists to stay with Korean family - expect basic facilities
    • Enjoy Activities in homestay village - play volleyball or sirim (Korean wrestling) with the villagers or help with some light chores. You may just walk around to meet the neighbors. In the evening there will be bonfire party on the beach with the villagers

    Sep 12 (Thu): Mt.Chilbo Orang Kyongsong

    • Breakfast
    • Visit Sea Chilbo - mountain range with multiple peaks and rock formations, stunning views and scenery and plenty of interesting stories. There is also a local beach - coast of the East Sea of Korea (known in West as the Sea of Japan). Optional boating (30 RMB per person)
    • Visit Sungson Pavilion - literally means "ascending to heaven", the name refers to a legend about fairies who visited Mt.Chilbo and bathed in the Kuryong Pool, danced and ascended to heaven. The great observation spot to see all rocks in Inner Chilbo
    • Visit Kaesim Buddhist Temple - built in 826 it is situated in the Mt.Pothak, central part of Inner Chilbo
    • Enjoy picnic lunch on the beach
    • Drive to Orang
    • Visit Yombun Revolutionary site - located 4 km from Kyongsong, it is called "yonbunjin" after being the first place on the East Coast where a new way to get salt was discovered. It is a collection of memorial spots where President Kim Il Sung talked with the fishermen calling them to build a new country
    • Drive to Kyongsong - a small town on the coast famous for a series of resorts at which you will have a chance to stop by. It is also a well-known ceramic-producing center
    • Visit Kyongsong Revolutionary Museum - a house used by the President Kim Il Sung's family during ani-Japanese struggle in 1940s. It is preserved to show their lifestyle at that time
    • Stop by Kyongsong town fort - National Treasure No. 118, perhaps the only intact city wall in the DPRK. It was built in a plain area during the Koryo dynasty in 1107
    • Experience Kyongsong Local Hot Spa - a great chance to try silica spa (optional, 3 Euro per person) with few minerals but rich in hydrogen carbonate, sulfur and sodium or Kyongong Onpho - an excellent health resort 12 km northwest of Kyongsong. 57 degrees celcius spa waters come from 500 m underground. The spa contains hydrocarbonic acid, sulphuric acid natrium, silica and small amount of minerals

    Sep 13 (Fri): Kyongsong Chongjin

    • Breakfast
    • Move to Jipsam Revolutionary site - a historic place where three generals (Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Suk, and young Kim Jong Il) met during the Japanese occupation to talk with fishermen how to defeat the invaders
    • Drive to Chongjin - "city of iron", the DPRK’s third largest city, a large industrial hub on the North East coast. It is estimated to have a 24% share of the DPRK's foreign trade
    • Chongjin central square - the main city square featuring renovated in Sep 2014 monument to the Korean leaders
    • North Hamgyong Province Revolutionary museum - a place where you will learn a great story about trees with revolutionary slogans carved into: when the forest caught fire in 1998 local people with their bare bodies protected the trees. According to the story 17 people died in the flames, but the trees were saved
    • Chongjin Electronic Library - a place in possession of more than 300 computers connected to Pyongyang. Quite often here schoolchildren take a test exam coordinated from the capital
    • Lunch
    • Susongchon General Foodstuff Factory - recently opened to foreign visitors, this factory is located outside of the city at the source of natutal mineral water which is used in production of various breads and traditional spirits
    • Chongjin steelworks kindergarten - here you will see a musical and dance performance by the local children. You may prepare some candies, food or pens to give to children after the show
    • Chongjin liberation tower - monuments to the Soviet soldiers fallen in the battles for Korea’s liberation from Japanese rule in Chongjin. The monument is located on the mountain which is the highest point of the whole area, and thus you will have a great view of the city and nearby Chongjin port. Pay a visit to nearby Korean People's Army Martyrs' Cemetery - the cemetery of revolutionaries who fought for the freedom and independence of the country
    • Enjoy view on Chongjin port - one of the country's main harbors
    • Dinner
    • Continue your evening in Seaman's Club - restaurant, bar, karaoke, gym and sauna at Chongjin city center. You can try some incredible Cold Noodles (Nae-Meng). It is actually one of the few places in the DPRK where foreigners and locals can mingle

    Sep 14 (Sat): Chongjin Rajin

    RASON SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE

    • Early breakfast
    • Pass Chongjin Railway Station
    • Drive (about 2.5h) up the coast to the internal border with RASON SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE
    • Enter Rason - Free Economic Zone Rason and arrive in Rajin - the biggest city in Rason
    • Visit Rajin Foreign Language School - a great chance to interact with local young people learning English
    • Lunch at Korea National Restaurant - the best place to enjoy Korean Noodles & Jongol
    • Rajin Golden Triangle Bank - the only place where tourists can exchange their money to Korean Won
    • Walk in Rajin city center - check out Monument of the Sun. The monument was unveiled in April 2015
    • Rajin Art Gallery - place to see an impressive assortment of DPRK art. It is also possible to purchase some of the works of art
    • Shoes Factory and Rajin Textile Factory - one of the biggest textile factories in Rason where revolutionary music is played in order to keep upbeat mood of the workers
    • Enjoy walking tour in Hae’an Rajin Beach Park - a recently renovated seaside/beach park, one of the most popular places in the city

    • Kimilsungia and Kimjonglia Greenhouses - the place where the famous flowers named after leaders are grown along with Korean national flower - Magnolia

    • Rajin City Port - a place of active Chinese and Russian investments, a home for the DPRK passenger cruise ship as well as occasional Russian cruises

    • Travel to Pipha Area - an island known for its stunning scenery, fishing, and boating. Sightseeing on boat (optional, 100RMB per person. If weather is favorable you will see seals - it is the only Seals Nature Reservation site in DPRK)
    • Visit local casino in Emperor Hotel & Casino - 5* hotel where wealthy Chinese come to gamble. It is owned by Hong Kong investors and it is one of the best hotels in the DPRK
    • Chujin Beach - a chance to relax at East of Korea
    • Move back to Rajin

    • Drive to Sonbong - second biggest city in Rason.
    • Visit Sonbong Revolutionary Site - the place where the mother Kim Jong Suk with the 3 year old leader Kim Jong Il returned back to Korea after the end of World War II
    • Drive to Tuman river border area - the chance to observe China and Russia across Tuman river. From Sonbong the road initially goes along beautiful coast of the East Sea of Korea and then it turns North, and passes through a system of blue lakes, one of which - Manpo lake - has been identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area because it supports populations of various birds such as swan geese, oriental storks, and cranes
    • Arrival in Tumangang - Korean town at the border with Russia
    • Visit Korean−Russian Friendship House - located in Tumangang, it is a museum dedicated to the history of Russia-Korea relations
    • Move to Sungjon pavillion - located on a hill dominating the area, it is a nice pavilion next to the Victory Monument to Admiral Li Sun Sin, inventor of the legendary turtle battleship. It is the great observation platform to enjoy view on neighboring Russia and China
    • Drive to Wonjong - Korean city at Chinese border
    • Cross Wonjong Sino Korean Friendship bridge - China/Korea border crossing point and arrive in China
    • Drive to Yanji - home for the largest Korean-Chinese community in China, the main city of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and today is an important transportation and trade hub between China and North Korea
    • Dinner at your own expense
